Before coming to South Africa, my godfather recommended that I contact one of his tennis mate ‘Thierry’ who has been living in Capetown area for the last 4 years. Thierry has been very helpful with all the things you need to consider when you move to a different country. After many emails and several missed opportunities we finally managed to meet this week end. We met in Stellenbosch for lunch in a wine estate called the Guardian Peak. Food and wines are great but the best part is the view as often in this area. Great lunch and conversations, ended up spending 3 hours there drinking wine and enjoying all Thierry’s stories. He is quite a character and we are already looking forward to the next time he comes over.
Also adding one more shot of Muizenberg, almost didnt go surfing that day because of the strong onshore and the ‘small swell’. In fact, swell picked up and had loads of fun with only 4 teenagers who joined me at the line up. Decent size and some surprisingly long rides given the conditions.
